Otumfuo Silence Critics – God Has Made Me Great

The Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has emphatically stated that his kingdom is great and popular across the world because the Almighty God wants it to be so.

The King therefore asked critics not to be envious since as he put it the greatness of the Asante kingdom has been ordained by the Almighty God, the creator of mankind.

Otumfuo was reacting to a recent publication in national newspaper, which questioned the rationale behind the visit by the hierarchy of Glo Mobile Ghana Limited to the Manhyia Palace.

The Glo Mobile Ghana team used the visit to inform the Asantehene about plans of the company to officially start work in the country but the said publication disagreed with the company’s action.

The Asantehene, who was astounded by the publication which sought to divide the country, noted that the populace should rather concentrate on things that unite the country.

He made the remarks when ace musician, Charles Kwadwo Fosu aka ‘Daddy Lumba,’ who was accompanied by management and staff of Angel FM, led by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the station, Dr. Kwaku Oteng paid a courtesy call on him at the Manhyia Palace.

The Asantehene urged Daddy Lumba and for that musicians in the country who he described as very important people to use their music to help develop the country.

In this regard, he admonished musicians to shun lyrics that would not augur well for the advancement of the country and rather compose songs that could motivate and console the people.

The Asantehene implored Daddy Lumba, who he described as a popular musician, to always remain humble and respectful in all his dealings to help him stay on top.

He commended Dr. Oteng for his leading role in the creation of businesses which has led to the employment of many people, urging him to keep up his good works.

In his succinct remarks, Daddy Lumba said he was so happy to meet the Asantehene, promising to always come out with albums that would contribute to Ghana’s growth.

Dr. Oteng, who owns the Angel FM, Angel Educational Complex, Angel Herbal Products, among other businesses, thanked Otumfuo for his support which has helped his businesses to flourish.

He announced that Angel Group of Companies is organizing a show for Daddy Lumba to perform in Kumasi on December 24, 2011.
